Finding the Right Agency

Tips on browsing, filtering, and evaluating agency profiles.

How do I browse and filter the agency directory?
Visit the "Hire" section from the navigation bar to access the full agency directory. You can browse agencies by service category (e.g., SEO, Web Design, Branding), by industry (e.g., Healthcare, Finance, Technology), or by location. Use the filter sidebar to narrow results by rating, number of reviews, verified status, team size, budget range, and more. You can also sort results by relevance, highest rating, most reviews, most viewed, or newest. The search bar at the top supports AI-powered semantic search — describe what you need in plain English and the system will find the best matches.
What should I look for in an agency profile?
A strong agency profile will have a detailed description of their services and approach, case studies showcasing past work with measurable results, team member profiles with relevant expertise, and client reviews with high ratings. Pay attention to the overall star rating (out of 5), individual rating breakdowns (quality, schedule, cost, willingness to refer), response time data, and earned badges like Top Rated or Fast Responder. Verified agencies have undergone additional screening. Also check whether the agency lists your industry as a specialization and whether their team size and hourly rate range fit your project.
What do Verified and Featured badges mean?
The "Verified" badge means an agency has paid a one-time verification fee and been reviewed by the 50Pros team. Verified agencies have their website, email, and phone number visible directly on their profile, making it easy for clients to reach them. The "Featured" badge indicates an agency has an active Featured subscription, which gives them priority placement in search results and directory listings. Both badges signal a higher level of commitment to the platform, but all agencies on 50Pros — whether free, verified, or featured — go through the same onboarding and moderation process.
Can I compare multiple agencies side by side?
Yes. While browsing the directory, you can add agencies to a comparison by clicking the compare checkbox on their listing card. Once you’ve selected two or more agencies, a comparison bar appears at the bottom of the screen. Click "Compare" to see a detailed side-by-side view including ratings, reviews, services, team size, pricing, response time, badges, and more. This makes it easy to evaluate your top choices before reaching out.
How do I save agencies to a shortlist?
Click the bookmark/save icon on any agency card or profile page to add them to your shortlist. You’ll need a free account to use this feature. Your saved agencies are accessible from the "Saved" section in your buyer dashboard, where you can review and manage your shortlist at any time. This is useful for building a list of potential agencies before you’re ready to submit a project or start a conversation.
How does AI-powered search work?
The 50Pros search bar uses AI-powered semantic search, meaning you can type a natural language description of what you need rather than just keywords. For example, you could type "I need help redesigning my e-commerce website" and the system will understand your intent and surface the most relevant service categories and agencies. Behind the scenes, your query is converted into an embedding and matched against our database of agency profiles using similarity scoring, with keyword search as a fallback to ensure comprehensive results.
What is the Human/Machine toggle on profiles?
On agency profile pages and directory listings, you’ll see a small toggle at the bottom of the screen labeled "Optimized for AI Search" with Human and Machine options. The Human view is the standard visual profile you normally see. The Machine view presents the same agency information in a structured, AI-friendly markdown format that can be easily understood by AI search engines like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. This helps agencies get discovered through AI-powered search tools. As a client, the Human view is what you’ll typically use — the Machine view is primarily for AI crawlers and researchers.
