How did you get into your industry?

I was initially trained as an actor and also worked as a narrator and host. I was looking for a creative job that I can do from home, and someone told me that there's a home recording business.

What is the best piece of advice you've received in your career that pertains to your work, and how has it influenced your decisions?

My first acting coach used to say that the ability to pick out the best option in the given circumstances is crucial in this business. It very much affects my job choices and my stance towards work in general - I stopped playing a number game, and started to focus on what I really feel like I should do.

What activities or hobbies outside of work do you enjoy that help you recharge and stay creative?

I love to travel, see and learn new things, film or photograph them and do some additional research on them.

What do you like most about your industry?

I find the international market of home recording VO business pretty fair, in that you don't need to be super famous to get cast in a big project. I love that there's an endless list of opportunities, and I never got tired of tackling new challenges.

What do you wish people knew about your industry?

I wish people knew that the real, spoken Japanese language is more complicated than what's just Google-translated. I hope all clients hire native translators to ensure the script quality.
